When applying for a job in writing, make sure you include a well-written cover letter. Take some time to write a meaningful cover letter. Only those who make a convincing overall impression will be successful. The cover letter is part of this.


The letterhead

In addition to your address, include your telephone number and email address. Make sure that the recipient's address is correct and that you follow the usual formalities for a letter.


The content

  • Subject
    Write a suitable subject line, ideally including the job title as stated in the advertisement. At the end, highlight it and make it bold.
  • Beginning: The company
    Describe your interest in this position, possibly your knowledge of the company and this industry.
  • Main section: Why you
    Highlight the similarities between the requirements and your own qualifications. It is best to link directly to the relevant sections of your resume.
  • Conclusion: What you want
    At the end of the letter, express your interest in an interview. And remember: someone looking for an administrator is not expecting a poet.
